ABOUT THIS LOCATION:

This is Covington, Kentucky at MP 662.8 on the CSX Cincinnati Terminal Sub. The CSX Queensgate Yard in Cincinnati, Oh., is about 5 miles North of this location. Also, 1 mile to the North is the C&O Railroad bridge over the Ohio River which dates from 1929. About 1/4 mile South the track splits with one branch going East along the former C&O line. Going South is the former L&N line. At Latonia, the L&N splits with the CC Sub going towards Knoxville and the LCL Sub towards Louisville (the line seen at La Grange). This route is used by Amtrak’s Cardinal trains.
